Born in Japan in 1972, Takako Yamasaki started studying violin at the age of five. She completed her BA and MA at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music under Kazuki Sawa and her soloist diploma course at the Musikhochschule Winterthur-Zurich under Professor Gyorgy Pauk, supported by a scholarship from the Yasuda-Seimei cultural foundation. During 2001-2003 she studied in London supported by the Agency for Cultural Affairs of Japan.Her orchestral appearances include performances with such orchestras as the Suisse Romande, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, New Japan Philharmony Orchestra, Winterthur Stadthaus Orchestra and Pleven Symphony Orchestra. She has also toured with Paillard Chamber Orchestra, Tokyo Chamber Orchestra and London Chamber Players.
Since 1995 she has begun giving recitals in Japan, Switzerland, Italy, United Kingdom and South Africa to critical acclaim. Her repertoire ranges from Baroque to Contemporary works, with an interest not only in solo works but also for chamber music. She has performed and studied chamber music with many outstanding musicians including her teacher Gyorgy Pauk and members of Carmina Quartet.
She won first prize at the 28th Tibor Varga International Violin Competition, 5th Tokyo International Chamber Music Competition and 19th Vittorio Gui International Chamber Music Competition, and third prize in the 45th Paganini Violin Competition. Takako Yamasaki now lives in Tokyo and performs as a soloist and chamber musician, as well as teaches at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music.

プロフィール
熊本県出身。5歳よりヴァイオリンを始める。東京芸術大学附属音楽高等学校を経て、同大学で澤和樹氏に師事、同大学院修士課程を終了後ヴィンタートゥア・チューリヒ音楽大学(スイス)に留学、ジョージ・パウク氏に師事、ソリスト・ディプロマ課程卒業。その間、ソロだけでなく、師であるパウク教授を始め、カルミナ弦楽四重奏団のメンバーや当地で活躍している演奏家と共演し、多くを学ぶ。その後ロンドンに渡り、2001−2003年は文化庁在外芸術家派遣生として研修を行う。
第28回ティボール・ヴァルガ国際ヴァイオリン・コンクール第1位、第5回日本室内楽コンクール第1位、第19回ヴィットリオ・グイ室内楽コンクール(ピアニスト鈴木美加とのデュオ)にていずれも日本人としてはじめての第1位を受賞。また第45回バガニーニ国際ヴァイオリン・コンクール第3位など国内外のコンクールにて数々の受賞歴を有する実力派。
これまでスイス・ロマンド管弦楽団、ヴィンタートゥア市立交響楽団、ブルガリア・プレヴェン市立交響楽団、新日本フィルハーモニー交響楽団、東京フィルハーモニー交響楽団、熊本交響楽団等と共演。また、パイヤール室内管弦楽団、東京弦楽合奏団およびロンドン・チェンバー・プレイヤーズの演奏ツアーにも参加し、日本のみならずヨーロッパ、アジア各地、南アフリカ等で演奏する。
現代音楽にも興味を持ち、アジア作曲家連盟バンコク大会に参加したり、国枝春恵作曲「ヴァイオリンとオーケストラのためのセラピム」の初演にも携わるなどその活動は幅広い。
ヴァイオリンを東眞知子、故・松村英夫、故・数住岸子、山岡耕筰、澤和樹、ジョージ・パウクの各氏に師事。現在東京芸術大学非常勤講師。
